Built on tradition. Driven by innovation.

Our modern cooperative

Community spirit is at the heart of everything we do.

Since our founding, we have made internal decisions by democratic majority. Our cooperative business model facilitates open and honest collaboration and fresh ideas. This fuels our spirit of innovation and knowledge exchange. Our customers and business partners directly benefit from this by receiving technologically advanced, high-quality products

How is working in a cooperative different from working in a corporation?

Especially young employees appreciate the strong sense of community within our cooperative business model, which provides meaningful work.

At GWM, we live by the motto “Teamwork makes the dream work.” We demonstrate a sense of community to the outside world through numerous social initiatives as well as upholding it within the company. Fast decision-making processes, individual responsibility, and the desire to do something valuable motivate us and help us resolve all challenges.

Since 1948, the company has been passed on from one generation of cooperative members to the next. All profits have been reinvested in GWM to secure our common path, for our employees, business partners and members.

Our cooperative is a union of active employees who would like to assume responsibility for other staff. After 5 years with the company, every employee can apply to become a cooperative member. A strong sense of social responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset are key criteria.

Our values are also shared by our customers and partners, including Bora, Fissler, Miele, and V-Zug, with whom we have been working for decades. Their owners and managing directors are outstanding personalities who not only appreciate our philosophy and way of working, but also promote it. They value sustainable, flexible manufacturing in Matrei, and their forward-thinking approach strengthens our DACH region. Together, we achieve sustainability goals and create jobs in the region.
